Questo seminario, organizzato congiuntamente da Handi-FSM, Vida Brasil, Association des Paralysés de France, Ecole Supérieure Polytechnique (Senegal), Community Transportation Association (Stati Uniti), Comune di Althens des Paluds, Handicap International e Alleanza Internazionale degli Abitanti, ha raggiunto delle conclusioni importanti per il futuro di noi tutti. Queste conclusioni sono state presentate in particolare in occasione dell’Assemblea Mondiale degli Abitanti.

From the 26th to the 30th of March, as part of the World Social Forum, the city of Tunis will host the next World Assembly of Inhabitants (WAI), supported by international networks and inhabitants organisations, such as the IAI, HIC and No-Vox, and in collaboration with local social organisations. Everyone is invited to take part in this key stage in the process of bringing together the various struggles for the right to housing, cities, land and common goods, follow up of WAI Dakar 2011 and of a year filled with opportunities for inhabitants to have their voices heard on a global level.

As part of the World Social Forum, on 27 March, with the aim of facilitating discussion about experiences of struggle, sharing analyses and strategies, strengthening international solidarity with local struggles and defining shared tools for awareness, alerts and solidarity, the II International Meeting on "Building g-local defence for victims of the real estate markets" took place as a thematic contribution to the World Assembly of Inhabitants.

Key question: Are the inhabitants ready to face the crisis?
The crisis is the source of all sorts of drastic change, but are we ready to face it with unified proposals that are capable of combining resistance with alternatives? As Marxist geographer David Harvey highlighted during his presentation at the seminar on the right to the city, this is the most serious crisis and the most structurally rooted crisis in urban areas in modern history. Consequently, could the social movements attack the roots on the premise of the right to housing and to the city? How? With whom? When?
