New Orleans, Return to Iberville
Iberville, New Orleans
This report illustrate some of the many recent actions taken by USACAI organizations around the country, all to claim the universal right to housing. This one, from Hands Off Iberville in New Orleans, connects the local struggle with the USA government's abandonment of public housing and the public good.
To support the movement to defend Iberville, as well as the Jobs for All, Legalization for All campaign, and how your local group can endorse the demands and join the growing campaign, go to http://njmay1.org/

Katrina Victims Will Not Have to Vacate Trailers
The Federal Emergency Management Agency had given trailer residents like these in Port Sulphur, a deadline of May 31 to vacate or face legal action.
We have a lot to celebrate today! Thanks to you and people like you nationwide, FEMA has been forced to reverse its policy and has halted plans
to evict Katrina survivors from FEMA trailers - the only home that many currently have. It will instead let those who are living in these trailers remain and purchase them for as little as $5.
