Resisting evictions in Navotas, Philippines (John Lagman, 2010) Evicted families, especially women, residing along Road 10 in Navotas City, Metro Manila, Philippines are appealing for solidarity and support. On January 18 to 20, and then on March 4 to the present, (March 12) the Philippine Department of Public Works and Highways and the City Government of Navotas have conducted demolition operations for the purpose of widening the road. To date, the homes of some 393 families of the targeted 1,000 families have been demolished.

Istanbul, Emek resistance (2011) On the 17th of April, hundreds got together to sound their resistance against the renewal project of Emek Cinema, one of the most important cultural heritage buildings of Istanbul. According to the project of the local (Beyoglu) municipality and Istanbul Big Municipality, the building which contains not only Emek but also a small cinema and a historic pastry shop will be transformed into a Madame Tussaud like museum and a shopping mall.
We won't go, No pasaran, Zero Eviction at Dale Farm, UK (April 2011) Travellers and Romany people from across Europe have protested against the planned evictions. Travellers and Romany people will be forcibly removed from an illegal site in Essex if they do not leave voluntarily, councillors have decided. Basildon council's development control and traffic management committee voted to take direct action at Dale Farm, between Billericay and Basildon. The committee also voted to take out an injunction and take similar action at The Paddocks near Wickford.

Catherine Lennon- the woman Van Jones called 'the Rosa Parks of the foreclosure crisis'- won a reprieve from eviction due to a recent New York Supreme Court ruling. The ruling stays her eviction, which was set for Wednesday, August 17, 2011, and sets up a court date where Fannie Mae and Bank of America must prove they have the paperwork to evict her in the first place.“Ripples become streams, streams become rivers. . .
