Perú: Huáscar Residents March

More than 5 thousand inhabitants of the Human Settlements of “UPIS Huáscar”, “Villa Hermosa”, “9 de octubre”, and “10 de febrero” of San Juan de Lurigancho, marched to demand the expropriation sentence.

The Federation of Organizations of the Neighborhoods of Lima and Callao – FOVELIC ( Federación de Organizaciones Vecinales de Lima y Callao) showed its solidarity with the mobilization summoned by the Human Settlements of “UPIS Huáscar” , “Villa Hermosa”, “9 de octubre”, and “10 de febrero” that took place on Wednesday, march 26th towards the seat of the Judiciary on Abancay avenue.

The inhabitants, who have occupied this land for 32 years, claim their property title through the sentence to be released by the 15th Court for contentious administrative proceedings – File 133-2000, and that the National Assets Superintendence ( Superintendencia de Bienes Nacionales) carries out the Exchange of lands, in accordance with the law no. 28576 and the D.S. 029-2006 E.F.

FOVELIC also reminded that the Public Attorney of the Municipality of Lima is overtaking the defense of 41 judicial processes of expropriation of human settlements before the Judiciary, who hasn’t resolved these cases yet. (E.g. AH “Tejada Alta” in Surco, PMV “Confraternidad” in Los Olivos, “Los Perales” of Santa Anita, “7 de junio” of Pueblo Libre, among others.)

After the mobilization, a committee of leaders met with the judicial authorities, who announced that they will have a favorable solution in 10 days.
