Towards the WAI: searching for volunteer translators!

>>> before 10/10/10!

The WAI Promotion Committees will meet during the International Days for Housing Right to Housing (Bobigny, France, 13-16 October 2010). Because this is a bottom-up and self-managed process, we would like to present in Bobigny, an even more strengthened and rooted "International Network of Volunteer Translators for Housing Right With No Borders."

2010 is the year that we intend to lay down the solid foundations of the World Assembly of Inhabitants (World Social Forum, Dakar 2011), a proposal which has the support of over 380 organizations from over 40 countries, including the support of major international networks for the right to housing. This is a participative process developed through meetings which have taken place in many countries on all continents, and which requires systematization of experiences and the building of shared memories and knowledge.

The WAI Steering Committees will meet during the International Days for the Right to Housing (Bobigny, France, 13-16 October 2010), the last stage before the event in Dakar. We will assess the WAI process; discuss and decide the contents of the event in Dakar; launch the debate on the 2011-2014 strategy towards the Via Urbana ; share the agenda of coming months, starting with the initiatives planned as part of World Zero Evictions Days in October. A must: the mobilization of solidarity in a Roma camp in Paris, or in another place threatened by President Sarkozy’s policy of forced evictions.

Because this is a bottom-up and self-managed process, in Bobigny, we would like to present an even more strengthened and rooted "International Network of Volunteer Translators for Housing Right With No Borders" , so that the glocal inhabitants can discuss issues without the problem of the language barrier.

We are, therefore, appealing to all interested persons to contact: iai_tr_man@habitants.org by the latest 10/10/10, indicating when they are available.

Note: We encourage volunteer interpreters residing in Paris to urgently indicate their willingness to cooperate in the International Days of Bobigny. Required languages: FR / EN / SP / PT.

Sign up now to become a “Volunteer Translator for the Housing Right to With No Borders”!

We also encourage you to get your friends and colleagues to participate!
