IAI stands with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela against imperialist manoeuvres
The International Alliance of Inhabitants is standing with the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and their legitimate president Nicolas Maduro, who are the victims of attacks from imperialist countries, who will not accept this country's internal democracy. We see these attacks as yet another failure at this exceptional time in Latin America, with coups d’état and political instability in different countries.
The policy of the United States Government and its imperialist allies is to create adversaries in the name of democracy; but what it really wants is a government in thrall to American interests in a country of such strategic importance, and with large reserves of natural resources.
We regret that by demonstrating disregarding the Venezuelan institutions, some countries in Latin America and Europe break with conciliatory and articulating positions and push towards a war.
Nicolas Maduro was declared president on the 10th of January 2019, after legitimate elections on the 10th of May 2018 in the presence of dozens of international delegations. The transfer of power was granted by the Supreme Court of Justice. Venezuela has a Constitution approved by the democratic sovereignty of the people, giving Nicolas Maduro a legitimate mandate.
This government is satisfying the demands of the Venezuelan people, with social rights such as rights to housing, health, and education.
It is the international economic blockade imposed by the United States which is causing great harm to the population and endangering the country's economy.
The illegitimate recognition by the United States and its allies of Guaido, who wants to start a war, as president of Venezuela.
Our solidarity and support for the resistance! The democracy, and sovereignty of the Venezuelan people will triumph!
International Alliance of Inhabitants
