Philippines, Kadamay members rally outside NHA, call for 'zero eviction'
Members of Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) and other informal settlers held a protest rally outside the National Housing Authority (NHA) office in Quezon City Monday.
According to Allan Gatus' report on News To Go, protesters, some of them emotional, asked NHA officials to get out of their office and discuss their issues with them.
Kadamay urged the NHA to stop the supposed oppression against the illegal settlers of Sitio San Roque, as the deadline for them to demolish their own homes nears.
Illegal settlers were ordered to self-demolish their homes within the 30 days after they were informed.
Kadamay said that agency is being deaf toward their requests.
