Press communication regarding the International Conference on March 26-27, Fernando de la Mora , Paraguay To strengthen ties between Latin American civil-society organizations and government representatives in order to raise awareness of housing issues and increase efforts toward the people’s just demand for inclusive cities that provide basic services for the population as a whole: this is the objective of the announcement and invitation to this event is made by the Paraguayan Committee for Spontaneous Settlements in conjunction with the Argentine Habitat Network and the International Inhabitant’s Alliance.

A partir del 2 de Marzo de 2009, la administración municipal inició el proceso de desalojo de 469 familias de los Asentamiento Brisas de Navarro y Brisas de Córdoba, en la ciudad de Cali, al Sur Occidente de Colombia.2. Muchas de las familias son desplazadas por la violencia, la gran mayoría víctimas de crímenes atroces, tanto en violaciones a los Derechos Humanos, como al Derecho Internacional Humanitario. La totalidad de estas familias son afrocolombianas, la gran mayoría ha perdido a uno o más integrantes de su familia, en actos criminales de grupos paramilitares, de grupos insurgentes y de la fuerza pública colombiana.
